Oven won’t turn on. No glow from igniter and no sound of gas coming in. I’m trying to determine whether the problem is with the igniter or the gas valve. I’m hoping that if the igniter is the problem (dead?), this would prevent the gas valve from opening and a new igniter would fix the problem. Any ideas? How difficult is it to replace a broken igniter?
Check for the 120 VAC to the igniter while the control calls for heat. If there is proper voltage then the igniter is the culprit. If this is a flat igniter then you can use the igniter

I checked and there doesn’t appear to be any power to the igniter. Does this mean the controller is out?
Remove the wires from the gas safety valve terminals and check for continuity between these terminals.
If there is continuity then the “controller” is bad.
If there is no continuity then the gas safety valve has to be replaced.

The Gas Company came out and told me the ignitor wasn’t getting any power. I assume that means the controller you’re talking about has now “died.” Can this part still be purchased somewhere? Would you know the part number? Thanks for your help.
Have you tested the gas safety valve? You have to confirm which part is bad before order any.
The model number you posted does not come up due to its age. You have to call the APP customer service and they will help you with information regarding part numbers, prices and availability.
