Our oven recently went out and a friend gave us one he had sitting around for a while, serial # is 250904UE and it is a convection oven, well I had to do some extensive modfications in order to get it to fit in our wall, so now after making the electrical onnections it does not work, it also has a timer and is self cleaning.
The oven has 2 white wires, I guessing neutral, 2 black wires , one red wire and a ground, the wires coming from my house are both black, one has a red stripe and the other does not, just black and also a ground, so I have both white wires connected to the ground wire, both black wires connected to the black wire with the red stripe and the red wire connected to the solid black wire and the oven light and the convection comes on only not in convection mode, it comes on when on Bake. The other oven that I removed was connected black wire to black wire with red stripe, red wire to black wire, white wire to a ground wire and another ground to the junction box, which was not connected to any sort of ground.
I know this is a lot to take in, but if someone can help I would certainly appreciate your effort.
