Oven stuck in self clean

Brand: Kitchen Aid
Model Number: KDRP407HSS4
Main Symptom: Stuck in self clean
What happens & when:

We turned the oven on to bake at 350 one night but it went into self cleaning mode on its own. I couldn’t shut the oven off with the control panel so I flipped the breaker. Even with the breaker being off for a prolonged time, as soon as you turn it back on the oven starts heating up for self cleaning. The display just shows the clock, and the selection knob is on Reset. I also tried holding down the Cancel button but that doesn’t do anything.

I’m thinking the control board needs to be replaced…thoughts?

This is usually down to either a failed door latch assembly WP4451896 or the main control board WP4452444, both of these components have been discontinued by the manufacturer and are no longer available for purchase.

Thanks for the info. It wouldn’t be this type of control board? I can find these, but am not sure what the difference is between this and the control board part you listed (if it does happen to be that and not the latch assembly as you also mentioned).

Hi all,

NLA :frowning:

The one you pictured appears to be the display part only on the consol.

Do you have any experience with repair services for this type of part? I’m wondering how reliable they are, and if that’s an okay option if replacement isn’t in our budget right now.

As long as parts are still available for the board or the board itself is not burnt or such they can be safely be repaired or rebuilt!
