My gas oven will preheat, but once preheated, the oven no longer will heat. So, the oven eventually cools down, and only when it is completely cool will it then start heating if I start it again. Obviously, I can’t bake something in the minute or so that I have the correct temperature.
I have turned off the power to the unit and tried to ‘reset’ it, but that does not work. When I try to turn the oven on when it is not completely cooled, I just get the clicking noise, but no gas is ignited.
After the oven preheated and stopped heating check for 120VAC coming to the bake igniter while the control calls for Bake.
Post the results.

P.S. You missed the last digit in the model number.
Hi Gene,
The last number of the model number is “7”.
I don’t know how to check the voltage to the bake ignitor..if you could tell me how I could safely do it, I will try.
The oven does ignite to start out with. It’s just that, once it is no longer cold, it doesn’t ignite any longer.
Thanks for any help you can give me!

You have to have a simple multimeter and know how to use it. You have to check the voltage to find out which part is bad: the igniter or the control board. Otherwise you can end up replacing both parts.
