Oven is not lighting

My oven only comes on when it is turned to 400 degrees or above, and sometimes not even then. If it does come on, it takes 20 minutes. I know nothing about ovens, I just want mine to work :frowning:

I have the same oven and it does the same thing. I have to set it over 400 to get it to light and sometimes it takes forever. If I turn it down to 350 it doesn’t work right. Did you ever figure out what the problem is?

You likely have a weak bake igniter. The igniter must draw at least 3.0 amps to open the valve, 3.2-3.8 amps is the desired draw. Igniters become weak over time and even though they glow red, they don’t draw enough current to open the gas valve. I would recommend you replace the igniter. I have posted 2 links. One is to the exact replacement with the plug on the end, the other is to the same igniter with a splice kit at a much lower cost. It is up to you if you want to save some money and splice your old connector on.
