Ordering correct part number

I ordered part # wb21x226 I got wb21x5243 - the website gives ap2023620 for both. the terminals for the plug in terminals are a different size - I can’t install because of that–any way I can get the right part ? GE parts.com are useless. Right ,now I’m not worried about returns

Riley,

Our available information, including the GE parts web site, shows the WB21X5243 infinite switch, as the correct and only switch available for the model number you supplied.

You may have to use the replacement terminals supplied in the switch kit, in order to install and wire the switch.

Nothing like that in the parts kit that came with the switch, but now that I know something like that is availabe I’ll keep looking. I have a friend that is in the appliance repair business…I’ll have to invite him over for a drink.
Thanks

I haven’t had any luck so far—If anyone has a part number or place where I could buy a replacement terminal adapter it would be appeciated.

Riley,

You might want to try a local “Radio Shack”, electrical supply dealer or auto parts dealer.

:frowning: :frowning: :frowning:

1.) I had tried Radio Shack- no luck
2.) My friend the applicance repair man never had that problem.
3.) I used my rotary tool and ground down the terminal so I could slide the push on terminal on.
4.) I but it together and it didn’t work–A closer look on the instruction sheet said if your switch looks like Switch “A” (my switch) replace with Switch “B” Well switch “B” is not what they shipped.
5.) So I swapped switches with a front burner to a back burner. The cook rarely uses that back burner, so she is happy and I’m glad to be done.
Thanks

Riley,

The happy cook is the most important outcome. I’m surprised you weren’t able to find replacement terminals ? Everything changes, I guess.

You’ll be fine for a while anyway.

Good Luck,
