Hi guys, I have an old GE stove. I have no idea how old it it so I’ll add a picture of it and of the model and serial numbers. My question is which bake element would I need for it? I noticed it had a hot spot and then today it fried and I thought it was going to start a fire in the oven. Anyway, the element is toast. I just need to know which element to get. Thanks!!!
So I got the bake element for my oven and it fit right, the size was right and all that. Put it in and turned it on to check it out and it only got up to about 200 degrees, and that took over an hour. I had it set on 350. Any ideas why this would be? I changed the setting on the back of the temperature knob and nothing changed. Is there a reset button or relay somewhere maybe? I took the back off and looked at all the wires and they all look good, but I didn’t test any yet. Are there different size elements as far as volts or anything? I figured they would all be the same as long as it’s electric and it runs on 220. Any ideas? Thanks
No all elements are not the same wattage but they are usually close.
Did the element stay on all the time when i preheat?
Most ovens switch back and forth between the bake and broil elements but I cannot find any info on this unit so cannot say that this unit does this.
Could be that when the element blew it damaged the thermostat.
I am on the road till the end of the month so my online time is iffy
