Nothing at all in my Whirlpool

Ok, My thing stop working completely. No Hmmm, no timer, no nothing. With my basic knowledge of electricity i was able to notice that the push button was not transferring load thru from one side to the other so i replaced it. I also replaced the thermal cutoff which is the one with wires red and red/white colors.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

found that the two violet wires going into one of those thermal devices are open. also the two blue wires are also open going into the thermal fuse. are those have to be close too?

If your using the beeping on the meter I don’t believe it will show anything on that limit but the thermal fuse should have something through it if you use ohms with no beep you should see something throw the violet one. That one if its the limit with 4 wires is only used to advance the timer

See the attachment for the wiring diagram

It is the thermal fuse (Item 7 in Section 3) that will effect the motor.
The other thermostats are all for the heater.

It sounds like it is open/blown.

Unplug the unit and check the fuse with a meter should be 0 ohms.
Be sure to disconnect one side of any device you are measuring. This ensures that you do not read an alternate/parallel circuit path.

Jiggery Pokery method is.
Unplug the unit.
Remove both wires from the fuse, short them together and tape them up so they will not short to the frame.
Plug the unit in and give it a try.

If blown, replace the fuse ASAP as it is a critical safety device re: prevents lint fires which can turn into house fires.

Also clean/check your vent system and the blower as these are the most common causes of it blowing.

Denmam,

Found that the thermal fuse is completely out, shows no ohms at all. also checked the one with the violet wires and that one shows 7.1 ohms. I believe i founfd the solution here. as soo as Mr. Sun comes up i will going to pick up the parts.
