Not Heating

My dishwasher has a built in water heater that has stopped heating and but I am not getting the error code that shows it. Has anyone had this problem? Does anyone have a service manual or parts breakdown?

I’ve had a repairman replace the heater on my LG dishwasher model LDF6810WW and it still does not heat the water. What do we need to check next?

Good question. When it didn’t work did he make any suggestion?

No, not really. I think he realized he made a mistake by replacing the heater in the first place when that wasn’t the problem and now he doesn’t want to come back and look at it again.

Here is the parts breakdown.

Here is a service manual

You have to join the site to download the manual but it is free and this is a very good site for manuals and other info for the appliance repair DIYer.

Unplug the unit
First check the resistance of the heater
Should be around 10 ohms.
The wiring diagram does say it is “2 fuse” so I think it has a couple thermal fuses built into it as I cannot find any as separate parts.
If OK then check the wires up to the control board.
It looks like the display shows the water temperature so if this is correct then the thermistor is probably OK.
If it does not look normal or always stays at one reading, I would check the thermistor. Probably a good idea to check it in any case, if it does not read the temperature correctly then it could overheat the heater and blow one of those fuses mentioned earlier.

With luck someone with actual experience with LG will jump in and help out.
