Noise after replacing ADC board

Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: FRS26KF6DB0
Main Symptom: noise
What happens & when: after following the troubleshooting steps on your site and watching your video, I replaced the Adaptive defrost control board. When I started the fridge back up it started making this noise.

It would be recommended to check and make sure that the damper is not what is making the noise. Pull the control housing down and see if that is where the noise is coming from or if you got a faulty control board.

It is definitely the damper.

Upon investigation, the plastic gear that opens the door is stripped.

Is there no way to replace just the plastic parts?

Unfortunately, there is no way to replace just the gears. You would need to replace the damper.

With the damper off, shouldn’t I be feeling cold air coming from the freezer into the refrigerator? I’m not feeling any air movement at all. The fan is running in the freezer but I’m not feeling any air coming out of the hole in the refrigerator.

If you are not feeling any air then open the freezer door and feel if air starts coming through. If there is then, in this case, remove the crispers and look for an opening on the left wall that may be blocked by something, whether it is ice or maybe a bag or something.

Bingo!

The bottom half of the coils have frosted up.. again.

I replaced the little defroster unit that Clips on the line a couple months ago. I’ve also replaced the Adaptive defrost control board.

What else could be making this Frost buildup?

It is possible that you have a bad defrost heater if you replaced the bimetal thermostat and the control board.
