Hi I hope somebody can offer advice,I have a 2.5 year old (just out of warranty) bosch shv55 int dishwasher and it doesnt fill with water there is a click noise initially but no water enters, then a burning can be smelt.I have pulled out the unit but all components are sealed in the white plastic bottom section I presume I need to remove this completly to see the components , Do I undo the torx screws around the filter plate to remove the base and what is likely to be the fault? any help is greatly appreciated Sam
The first tining I would check is the water inlet valve. You can access it by removing the bottom panel. For more accurate advice we need the complete model number of the dishwasher. You can find it on the right side of the door.

I removed the front metal cover the water level (red plastic switch on the left) is free and the pump starts when it is lifted.
When I select a wash program there is buzzing and arcing sounds and smoke seems to be coming from within the door.
My inlet pipe has what appears to be a solenoid at the tap connection there is no voltage getting to it.
I will attempt to dismantle the door and look for damage.

I have now accessed the switch panel and the circuit board (BSH9000048 128) is badly burnt from a plug connector. so will try and locate a replacement do you think another faulty component could have caused the damage?
Sam,
Most likely the problem is just a bad control module. The model number you posted does not come up. Is it an American model?
Gene.
I am from England it could be specific to our market will change the module, thank you for your help .Sam
I have sourced the module and wiring loom from bosch to fit the loom I will need to remove the washers white plastic base. As a person not having attempted this before any general advice however basic would be useful. There are some torx screws holding clips inside and more at the front corners will the case then lift off or is it best to have the washer upside down to work on?
Sam,
I do not think you have to remove the base. Pull the dishwasher out of the cabinet. Remove the outer door, the toe kick, the side panels and raise the right side of the tank by sliding a piece of wood or other solid material between the tank and the base to keep the tank from falling back onto the base.
