NO SPIN on GE model no. WBVH6240FWW

I have no spin cycle on my front load washer, error code reads 54. Pump motor runs in test t11 but no spin. pump motor runs in test t14 but no spin. pump motor runs in drain and spin cycle but no spin. replaced drive motor but that did’nt solve my problem. Any sujestions?
Reconnected water supply and drain today, now the pump even runs while the washer is trying to fill, but the only error code is 54. Ran t06 test and everything checked out except the overflow portin of the test because when the water level was almost half way up the window and the and the pump still had not com on I pressed power to stop the test for fear of flooding the laundry room. when I hit the power button the pump came on and pumped out the water. Help!

These are great models when the work, but GE must have had an Engineer in Charge of Complexity assigned to the design when they made because it is really hard to diagnose given how complicated it is.

See if you can do some tests on the Inverter, that is the likely problem, but the CCU can also be a problem. If nothing comes up and you want to take a good guess at it, replace the inverter.

Thanks for your imput but after shelling out two hundred bucks for a motor and waiting a week for it to arive by UPS I cant afford to waste any more time or money. Laundy is piling up and the wife is getting a little flustrated. I decided to call a repairman he’s coming tommorrow. Hopefully he’ll have some experiance with this model. I’ll post his diagnosses. and what I end up doing with it. And maybe the answer will help somone else in the future.

Well I can understand your frustration, have wanted to shoot these machines many times myself.

Yeah, please let us know how things turn out, it will be helpful.

Repair man says he thinks it is the main control board, but he also says that that is just his best guess, and that this model is hard to diagnose. he’s comming back tuesday or wednesday to install the new control board. I’ll post back to let everyone know if he was right. or if it is in fact the converter.

The repairman installed a new control board tuesday and to my surprise it now spins and washes as it is suposed to. When it started spinning I think the repairman was just as surprised as I was. Anyway after buying a new motor, paying for a diagnostic visit by the repairman, and then a final visit for him to install the new and exspencive control board I find myself out almost six hundred dollars, (to repair a 4 year old washer!) But once I was already in for 2 hundred dollars what was I suposed to do. Yeah, I know buy my parts from a place that has a liberal return policy. This whole experiance has been flustrating to say the least, but I hope that my experiance saves someone else some green.

Well sorry you had such a bad experience, but it may be of some comfort to know that this is typical with these models. It is the reason why when folks ask us for a recommendation we say to go with a basic, no frills, no electronics top loader.

Good luck going forward and thanks for the update. It will be helpful!
