No power to front panel

Dishwasher stopped in the middle of a cycle leaving water in it there is no power on front of door. Also no response to any buttons.
Yup, it’s dead in the water. Actually it’s filled with dead water (stinky)!

Circuit breaker is good.

Thanks for the hellp!!!

Remove the control panel console and I think you will find the thermal fuse (AP3178588) attached to the control board is open. The replacement part comes as a kit that needs to be installed in it’s entirety to prevent this from happening again.

Thanks. Can a non-tech do this repair?

Also the heating element at the bottom has a large plastic utensil melted to it? I assume that is what caused the problem. Will the heating element likely need replacement?

Anyone with some basic technical skills (and a #15 star bit screwdriver) can get to the thermal fuse and install it. The kit comes with a set of instructions that can be a bit cryptic, but they are geared toward techs so go figure. The element should be replaced unless you can get all the plastic off the surface to prevent damaging the element.

You are awesome. Thanks for the help. My weekend plans are booked.

Glad I could help.
