No ice and intermittent water

Main Symptom: no ice intermittent water
What happens & when: water dispenser stops mid-stream and you have to open and close the door to get it to resume filling.

Error Code (if any): NA
Parts or tests already tried: already replaced water inlet valve

Check the switch for the dispenser as this would be the most likely cause for this issue.

Would replacing this switch also fix the issue that the ice maker is not making ice, or would the ice maker function be unrelated to the water dispenser switch?

The icemaker would not have anything to do with not dispensing water.
