Dryer is not putting out any heat. Tested all parts w/ digital multimeter. I unplugged the dryer & unhooked each individual part as I tested. All read 0.00 Ohms except for thermostat “Section 3; part 19” - which read 3.5 ohms. The temp set switch “Section 1; Part 79” gives no reading at all on “air” setting. I suspect this may be normal, & it has nothing to do w/ no heat production problem I am having, but unsure. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
I was wondering since you have the meter, and everything checks good, have you checked the power coming into the dryer, where the plug hooks up to the terminal block? Just because the dryer runs, does not mean the dryer is getting full power. Tom ApplianceEducator.com
That was it. The main double breaker to the dryer was half flipped. Thank you!
!!!
Glad to have helped. It would have made you mad to call a guy like me, to come out, and flip the breaker. Cool!!! Tom ApplianceEducator.com
Oh yeah, I was close. In the 19 years I’ve lived here, that’s the first time the breaker failed me.
I told a lady freind of my “experience”. She said “Too much knowledge can be a bad thing sometimes. As a woman I would have checked the breaker first thing.” But she did continue to say that since it was spinning she may have called someone herself.
Hopefully my experience will help others.
Thank you again!
Always wanting to go for my meters or my gauges first, a boss I had was constantly drilling me, “Always check for the low-tech problem/solution first.” It took me a long time to learn that the majority of problems with appliances fall in that category.
I herd that. Tom ApplianceEducator.com
