No heat from maytag mde9700ayw

Replaced thermal fuse twice keeps blowing fuse after 1 dry cycle. Inspected dryer vent and ran with hose disconected still blows fuse. Was wondering if thermostat for heating element could be bad causing to get to hot.

The unit does not use a thermostat. Temperature is regulated by the board reading the thermistor resistance, see the tech sheet.

Could be a number of things.

First I would try the diagnostics to see if something comes up.

Next I would check for a grounded heating coil.
Check the heating coil.
Unplug the unit and both wires to the coil.
Check it with a meter, should be around 10 ohms.
Then check from each side of the coil to the case/frame, both should be infinite ohms (open). If not the coil may have sagged or broken and is touching the case. This can cause it to run on high and the thermostats cannot regulate it.

Next would be the thermistor resistance.
