Hi All, I have run into the standard symptom where the wash cycle will not advance when the heater is set to “on” and water is cold. I ended up changing the thermostat (********************.ca part# PS420304) and it still did not work. I then changed the heating element with no success. (i.e. cycle still stuck and water still cold) Is there any way to test the thermostat to see if it is working ? Any advise on what else I need to check ?
There are two more thermostats: the temperature boost thermostat and the temperature assure thermostat. They both are attached to the tub behind the electrical junction box under the dishwasher. They both can be tested for continuity. When reinstalling these thermostats, apply thermal mastic to the face of the thermostat.
Interesting…I was not aware of the need for thermal mastic..makes sense though. However, it would be weird that all of them fail. Ok I will test and see…
Actually I did not test the thermostat… I made a educated guess, since the connectors to the thermostat were burned to a crisp., had to cut the cable and replace those connectors before replacing the thermostat. How do I test the thermostats ?
