New Oven door Bracket

Just received two new brackets for My Jen Air double oven. Part #ap4096703 removed top door and removed old brackets with no issues. Replaced and put back onto the oven. Two Issues, the door would not close all the way about 3 inches short and will not move. It looks to be bound. Took it apart a 2nd time put back together and had the same result. I then took it completly apart the 3rd time and put back the old parts and it closed like it should. The 2nd issue is the spring is so tight it will close on its on and could burn a person. Door hinges seem to be the same except for an extra small piece next to the bracket that is not on the new one. How do I make these work the bottom door is also bad and would like to replace them.

The model number you posted does not come up. Verify and repost it please.

What was the original problem?

Spring broke and one of the small support brackets also broke. Both doors are very hard to close. Issue is the new brackets I bought will not let the door close completely and the spring is so strong the door will close automatically The model # Is WW27210B

Did you do everything from A to Z as described in the attached file?

I removed the brackets with out the 1/8 pin. Taking it apart and putting back together was no problem. The issue is when I put it back into the oven it will not close tight. I did see on the internet that there are a lot of issues with new door brackets. It seems these are not good replacement parts?

This is OEM part. It might be that one of them is defective.

P.S. I want to make sure we are talking about the same part. You call it “bracket” and this is confusing to me because the correct name is “door hinge”.

Yes it is the door hinge. I bought two of them neither one works. When installed it will not close tight. Stays 2to 3 inches short of closing. It seem the spring is in the wrong position, when the door is completely open it wants to spring back. But when you close the door there is no tension on it and it will not close.

Spoke to Kbigs,
