New Maytag Dishwasher -- Installation of drain line?

My parents just gave me a brand new Maytag built in dishwasher. I’ve installed multiple dishwashers in the past but this is the first time I have seen this and don’t want to break it.

The drain hose comes out of the pump at the bottom and hooks up the side of the dishwasher and then back down the side and comes out the bottom. I’ve attached two pictures (the dishwasher is currently laying on its back).

I’m curious if I should be taking the drain hose off the side of the dishwasher and then connecting that to the drain (although the fitting looks to large to fit my drain). I can’t see how to remove the drain hose. There is no clip to release the hose (and no screw).

Can someone help me with this please? The installation manual isn’t much help since it just said connect the drain hose.

There should be an extension hose that hooks into that one do not remove hose off side of dishwasher that is a anti syphon loop to prevent any sink water from backing up into your dishwasher.

Drain Hose part number 8269144a and a clamp.

Click on the picture for info on the part.
This one is 6 foot. There is a 12 footer available if you have a very long run.

I opened the dishwasher like 5 times but I didn’t see the extension tube in there. I figured it out and have it all working.

Thanks!
