I just purchased a new Frigidaire FRT125GWK. It started making a strange knocking noise about 2 days after i plugged it in. It seems to coincide with the compressor running but the noise comes from somewhere else. It is perfectly leveled and it makes the noise even when it’s empty. I’ve tried unplugging it for over 12 hours several times. I recorded a short video of it running from the back. Here’s the link:

Any idea what could be causing this?
Most likely the condensor fan is hitting the shroud or te fan motor is having an issue, call a frigidaire tech for service so you do not void your warranty.

That ticking noise is coming from the defrost timer (rear left) did you get that replaced?
I guess you could tell if it was the fan at the compressor. There is a fan in the freezer behind the back panel. It may cut off when you open the door so hold the door switch in and see if the ticking stops when you let the switch go. You probably don’t have a defrost timer that would be clicking because most new units have motherboards or adaptive defrost control instead and they could click if bad. Unless it’s something simple the fan is hitting I would use the warranty coverage and not start taking things apart.
If you watch the youtube video (see posted link) you will see the defrost timer and that’s where the loud ticking noise is coming from. The only question is if that’s the noise zubrzubr is complaining about.
Without a mechanics stethoscope it is very difficult to find where the noise originates from.
I agree with woodchuckie put in a service call under warrant may be something simple but also could be a symptom of a problem which could be major in the future.
Did you ever solve the problem? I watched the clip on YouTube and my Frigidaire makes the exact same noise and it is driving me nuts! (My landlord owns the fridge and doesn’t think it is a problem worth calling a someone to fix…)
