We replaced the clock/timer because it was constantly having to push the start button after cooking for about 20 mins. Now the new clock/timer won’t even begin to heat the oven. What could be the problem? All the wires are hooked up correctly. The clock works and you are able to program the clock ok, but when you try to pre-heat the oven it won’t at all. If you choose the clean oven it won’t even begin that either. Any suggestions?

1/ I’m afraid I did not get it clear. Can you explain it more detailed?
2/ What it shows on the display?

Is there any way we can contact you directly and tell you what is happening with the stove?
Thanks Gene for your reply. When we installed the new timer, the clock worked fine and you were able to program it. But, when you turn the oven knob on to any temp. it never heats up. So, we put the old timer back in. It will heat up to temp. and stay cooking fine for about 20 mins. and then it starts beeping and you have to continually press the start button. It will only stay not beeping for maybe a few minutes. My husband last night just turned it off and then right back on and it would stay good for about 5 minutes and then start beeping again and then you have to press the start button again, or turn it off and then right back on. Also a code of F1 comes on the screen if you press and hold the start button for a while. Hope that explains things a little better.

What did it show on the display when you turned the oven ON with the new clock?
Did the surface burners work properly?
Gene.
It didn’t show anything on the display just the clock. When we turned on the oven to pre-heat it didn’t heat at all. The pre-heat light was on and the light above the oven knob was on too. Yes, the burners worked fine. Weird??
Sounds like the new clock/timer is defective. Whoever sold it to you has to exchange it under the parts warranty.
Gene.
Ok thanks will give them a call
You are welcome. Keep us posted.

Will do…have a replacement one on the way and it should be here next week. Hopefully it works!! Thanks for your help again.
OK…so we got the replacement clock/timer and it does the same thing. When you turn the oven on to pre-heat it does nothing. We flipped the breaker switch a few times slowly and that didn’t help. All the burners work and the clock works fine. Any ideas what might be wrong? My husband aksed what the ohm reading should be for the temp. probe for Model # MEF356BFWB Frigidaire Stove. Maybe it doesn’t work because of that? When we put the original back in it heats right up tho?? So frustrated Any help will be immensely appreciated.
I do not think there is anything wrong with the temperature probe. Otherwise the control will show “F3” or “F4” error code.
What is the part number of the clock/timer you installed?
Gene.
The part # is 31610113. Thanks for your help!!
Also, every once in a while when you touch the stove the start button will beep and go off on its own and then you have to turn the knob on and off. Could there be a short somewhere? We have noticed too that when you are cooking with the old timer sometimes when it beeps and you press the start button again it will display the dr message and start locking the door as if you were cleaning it, but it is actually just cooking. Weird!! Any thoughts??
The part number you posted is incomplete.
Have you replaced the clock overlay too or you used the old one?
You may want to check all wires and connections starting from the range terminal block. Very likely the problem is somewhere there.
Gene.
Ok from appliancepartspros.com we ordered part # AP2125571 and when we got both new clock/timer they said part # 316101103 on the invoices. We didn’t order the new clock overlay, are just using the old one. So is that the right part?
The part number is correct. It looks like the problem is somewhere in the wiring harness.
Gene.
problem in the wiring harness meaning??? Where should we go from here?? What should we look for?

You probably did not read it. It can be a broken wire, crossed wires, a bad connection etc.

I have replaced the board twice to the same result. The EOC will allow the heat relays to click on and off and the oven heats fine. But when I install either of the new eoc the relays do not function resulting in no heat. The indicator light above the temperature/mode knob comes on and the pre-heat light comes on but the relays do not function. If I put the old board in it heats correctly for 20 minutes then it beeps and F-1 is displayed. Was there a bad batch of boards?
