Brand: Verona (rebranded Italian Smalvic)
Model Number: VEFSGG31SS
Main Symptom: Need compatible ignition module replacement
What happens & when:
Bought this high-end gas range 12 years ago. Over the years replaced 5 ignition modules. Four modules were provided by the dealer (SKG MODEL AT413.00A). They did not last. Bought the fifth module from 3rd party (INVENSYS MODEL SM2, white on the photo), which lasted a few years. Now all of them are discontinued. Tried to buy a different module (IGN-7844), installed it, it works, but it does not stop clicking.
Switched wires. Problem stays with the module, not the burner or wiring.
I think, the problem with the latest module (dark red, IGN-7844) is that it has a different flame sensing mechanism. I believe, my range (and original ignitors, SKG or INVENSYS) are designed to sense DC current through the flame on the same ignition wire. The 4-poles one is not sensing it. The burners have no separate wires for flame sensing.
Any advice on where I could get a compatible ignition module? Photos are below.
Thanks.
