Need Help with Triton TR 4000 Washing Machine Repair - E5 Error

Brand: Triton
Model Number: TR 4000
Main Symptom: Machine not operating properly, displaying an error code.
What happens & when: The washing machine stops mid-cycle and shows an “E5” error on the display. This issue started occurring recently, and it happens consistently during different wash cycles.

Error Code (if any): E5
Parts or tests already tried: Unplugged the machine for a reset (1 minute).
Checked the water supply and inlet hoses for blockages or kinks.
Inspected accessible areas for visible damage but haven’t tested the motor or heating element yet due to limited tools.
Considered the motor might be the issue based on online research for similar models.

If there is a model/serial number sticker behind the door, could those numbers be provided?

Hey William,

Yeah no pr, mate

From what little I can find, it does look like it is having an issue with rotation. Does the spin basket rotate by hand freely or is it hanging up?

Thank you! Hm, I’ve seen this error reference to it, but it’s rotating freely without any problems.

If you remove the access panel at the back of the appliance, does it have a belt and motor or does it have a magnetic disc rotor and copper winding stator?

There’s a belt and motor at the back of the appliance.

Usually, a motor like that runs on DC voltage, which means the windings should all measure pretty close to the same resistance. If you test them and find one winding that’s way off compared to the others, that’s a red flag the motor’s bad.

Take a look at the motor itself too—sometimes there’s a part number or even a little diagram on it that’ll tell you what the winding resistances should be. If there is, can you provide a picture of it?
