Need Help With Felt Band Replacement

I got a new upper and lower felt strips (upper comes w/ impregnated plastic glides). HOW IN THE WORLD DO YOU GET OFF ALL THE OLD GLUE??! I’VE BEEN USING A STRIPPER/PUTTY KNIVE, BUT HAVE A 15" SECTION THAT IS HARD TO GET TO AT A GOOD ANGLE TO GET THE GLUE OFF. ANY SUGGESTIONS? i’VE TRIED SAND PAPER, TOO, BUT CAN’T GET GOOD PRESSURE ON IT DUE TO OBSTACLES.

PLEASE HELP!

ROB

A putty knife is about the best tool you can use to remove the excess glue and felt. It is slow and time consuming, but will provide for a better surface. Get as much off as you can before gluing on the new felts. You don’t need to get it all the way down to bare metal, just get all the high spots.

Thanks For Your Help. I’ll Get 'er Done.
