Hi, what is this part called. Our washer is leaking from underneath, I replaced the tub gasket but this part is so corroded the gasket can’t seal. What is the name of the part so I can order a replacement. thanks.

Sorry list is so long but you had a lot of corrosion and I wanted to cover all the major components. Of course you may not need all of them but it at least gives you a list of things to check

Hi, I bought a used tub support on ebay and my leak is fixed. However, I had trouble tightening the three screws that hold each of the three suspension spring brackets, do you know if I need a special socket? They’re slightly too small for a 1/4" socket. Thanks again for the help. I have another question. I think my machine is missing two of these. Whirlpool 285901 Washer Counterbalance Spring Kit | Genuine OEM Part I have one at the back and the only other springs I can see run horizontally, attaching the tub to the brackets. Machine runs fine. can you confirm this mode has three horizontal springs and three vertical springs - not one vertical spring at the back only? Thanks.
no there is only one counterbalance spring at the back to offset the weight of the motor
Help! It worked perfectly for three days, now it sounds awful like there’s gravel inside. And it’s leaking again

I think the transmission is bad, significant play in the output shaft. Decided to junk the washer and return the ebay washer support, which was quite expensive, before the return window closes in two weeks. Thanks again for your help! I would have 100% have put a new transmission in it but such a repair wouldn’t have made financial sense given that the tub was cracked at the top and also needs to be replaced.
