It was working fine now when I turn the timer to dry or any cycle it sounds like it wants to run but the tub does not tumble. The heating element is working. The belts are on it. I took the back off and can spin the motor by hand and make the belts turn the tub. Motor doesn’t seem to be froze up. I tried pulling the two wires off the thin white switch and taped them together no change. I do not have to push the start switch to make it sound like it wants to run, just turn the timer to any cycle and it is getting juice but no motor turning the tub. Any thing else to try for touble shooting?
Thanks

A guy at the parts store said either motor or timer switch. Suggested taking the motor to see if I could have it bench tested. Motor $112.00 timer $65. New dryer about $350.
Before committing to buying parts, check the breaker. Sometimes half the breaker can trip, while the other half stays live. Flip the breaker off and on a couple times and see if that restores the motor action. Also check the door switch. If the switch is open, no current will go to the motor.
