The old Speed Queen dryer will not run. The contactor on the start switch makes good contact but the motor (starter/solinoid) just buzzes.
A) How do I get to the inside of the dryer to service this part (or any part like a belt or idler)?
B) Do you think that the part that I may need will be available? I ask this because the start switch for this dryer model is no longer available.
You probably have bad start windings in the motor, or a jamed motor. You could verify with an amprobe if it draws axcessive current.

I appreciate the response. However, to investigate further, as I indicated in my initial posting, I need some advice on how to “get at the internals” ie how to take the top/back off the dryer to expose the motor/drum/ belt/ pulley etc.
