Brand: Miele Model Number: G5670 ScVi Main Symptom: fill error What happens & when: near beginning of cycle
As the cycle begins I can hear the drain pump run for approx 10 seconds and then when the program progresses to filling I immediately get a fill error (“open”) I know there are several things this can be but my internet searches lead me to believe that the fill valve likely needs replacement. Advice online indicates that the valve is either external to the unit in the water line or at the back of the machine. I pulled the DW today and found neither. The fill line runs into the lower back of the machine next to the drain line. I’m assuming the next step is to flip the machine on its side and remove the bottom panel to access the fill valve. Can someone confirm this is correct? I wanted to confirm before getting in too deep.
Also - I believe the OEM p/n is 10359301 Can someone help me identify a generic replacement as the Miele parts are both back ordered and wicked expensive? Thanks in advance
Any other advice/recommendations on how to confirm it’s the fill valve and how to replace it and/or other suggestions greatly appreciated.

On the Miele G5670 SCVi, the water inlet valve is mounted inside the dishwasher on the lower left side, just behind the kick plate and base, not at the faucet end of the supply hose like many older Miele models. The household water line connects to the valve assembly at the rear/base of the machine. Owners of this model have confirmed the valve is internal rather than integrated into the hose.
The original water inlet valve used on many G5670 SCVi models is:
10359301 – Water Inlet Valve (OEM)
10359302 – Superseding/revision number used on some replacements.
Before replacing the valve
If you’re getting a “Water Intake” or “Open Stopcock” error, don’t assume the valve is bad. Check these first:
Verify the house shutoff valve is fully open.
Remove and clean the inlet screen in the valve.
Confirm you have good water pressure at the supply line.
Check the flow meter/water intake assembly, as it’s another common cause of intake faults on this series.
Testing the valve
Unplug the dishwasher and shut off the water.
Disconnect the two wires from the inlet valve.
Measure the resistance across the valve coil.
A typical reading is about 2.1 kΩ (2100 Ω).
An open circuit or a very low resistance indicates a failed valve.
Thank you for the response. I put the machine on its side and removed the bottom panel. I thought it would be readily apparent where the fill valve is. It isn’t. I’m reluctant to start disconnecting hoses and removing other parts without some further guidance.
