Hey folks
Is it possible to have a transformer and a magnetron go out at the same time. All other functions work, but it won’t heat. And, yes, before someone asks why I don’t buy another, Amana is not made anymore and 1) all other models to fit space sit 1.5 inches lower than this model (making me lose valuable pots space on cooktop); 2) no other model has the optional features we use the most (timer, light over cooktop, defrost mode) exept at $600-700 range.
Diode tests fine. HV capacitor tests fine. Cement fuse fine. Magnetron - filament leads, 0-1ohm, filament-to-ground 1.5 ohms (not infinity); HV transformer - primary coil - 0.1 ohm; filament leads - 0 ohm; HV coil-to-ground - infinity (open). There are no visible burns/discolration from arcing of HV on transformer or magnetron. I do not check cracks in magnets as readings all off on magnetron. When ran through heating cycle, low-level humming heard.
HV transformer long longer available.
