Microwave turntable

My microwave turntable stopped turning. If I take out the tray and racks it turns. I’ve tried WD-40 but no improvement. Can it be fixed? Thank You.

Most likely the problem is a bad coupler. The model number you posted does not come up.

Thank you for the prompt reply. I looked at the label again. It’s a Sharp model number R-9H84B made in 1994, FCC ID APYDMR0088. That’s all there is for information. Is 1994 too far back to get a part number?

The model number does not come up because Sharp does not publish any technical information on line, but I was able to find the after market part which is exact replacement for this part.

  • The part number for the coupler is AP4349795

Thanks Again. Can the coupler be removed without taking the microwave apart? If not, is it simply a matter of removing the bottom sheet metal, unscrewing the turntable motor, replacing the coupler and re-installing the motor?

Gene,
I took out the coupler and it was broken. I ordered the part number you sent. When I took out the part, the broken piece disappeared. Is this a potential problem? Also, the motor works and I’d like to lubricate it. Does it come apart or is a spray lubricant enough? Thanks.

Sorry for the delay. The motor is not serviceable and do not worry about this broken piece.
