The Microwave works perfectly except it does not heat anything. All the buttons and lights are working, the turntable spins and the light comes on inside.
Any suggestions? Thanks.
In order to provide most accurate advise we need the complete model number of the unit. You can find it on the oven door frame.
Gene.
I found the following:
8538 793 54001
XNF 1310108
One other thing, I powered off at the circuit breaker and back on and a red code PF showed up on the left of the display. I figured that might mean Power Failure but I don’t know.
“PF” means power failure. Just push the Cancel button to get rid of it.
The model number is on the right side of the Oven door frame.

Got it! Thanks.
RMC305PDQ1
June '96 is the date of manufacture as well. Older than I thought but since its a built in two part system I’d like to fix it rather than replace it.
Open the control panel and check the 20 Amps fuse behind the control panel. Replace if it’s open.
- The part number for the fuse is AP3010073

You’re welcome. Keep us posted.

..any tips to removing the control panel? Other than turning power off!
Open the oven door. Remove the screw on each side of the trim. Pull the trim toward yourself from the bottom and slide it down to release it from the control panel tab.
Remove the screw on each side of the control panel bottom tab. Pull the control panel bottom toward yourself and lift it up to release from the top tabs. Now it’s all yours.

There’s a big copper looking fuse mounted on the top of the microwave - that one is fine. There’s also a glass one on the left of the control panel circuit board which is also fine.
Thanks.
Check the door switches and, if there is nothing wrong, then the magnetron most likely is bad.
Gene.
It looks like the part number is AP3109457. Is this something that is straightforward to replace? ie diy or professional?
Thanks
Yes, this is the right part number for the magnetron.
This job is not too complicated to do it yourself. Most difficult part is to remove the microwave from the oven cabinet. You’ll need to disconnect a lot of wires. Mark them properly to avoid problems with assembly it back.
Be careful and do one thing at a time and you can fix it.

I will let you know how it goes.
My magnetron arrived. Do you have any tips or pointers on getting the Microwave out?
Thanks
You can find the complete instructions in this Service manual.
Gene.
I replaced the Magnetron, the microwave is still not heating. I did find from the service manual that when I press the Cancel a code F ’ R1 appears on the display on the microwave side of the control panel.
Thanks
Did you do it?
Gene.
Not correctly I suspect. I’ll check again.
