Brand: Maytag/Whirlpool
Model Number: MFT2976AEM03
Main Symptom: Refrigerator LED lights flickering/not lighting + Freezer LED lights out completely.
What happens & when:
I have a Maytag french door refrigerator MFT2976AEM03 (2 french doors on top, one slide out freezer on bottom) and interior LED lights in freezer stopped working a few days ago, then about a day later, most (but not all) of the interior lights in the refrigerator started flickering and/or coming on dim. A few on the left side of the refrigerator are fine, but most are flickering or dim. Does one of the lights act as a “master” where replacing that one would fix everything downstream? Or could one bad light module cause the others up&downstream to fail? Part number W11683241 shows 12 modules, but is that only for the refrigerator? Does freezer use part of that set of 12? Thanks

Also, someone on a Facebook forum said just to replace the freezer light and that will fix the other issues. But not sure which freezer light, I think there’s a few. Thank you!
This actually usually is just the freezer LED going bad, this model should only have one. You might not be able to get just the single module anymore, though, because they made improvements to the LEDs themselves to solve issues like this and offer all the LEDs in the fridge as a kit. The manufacturer now recommends to replace all of the LEDs in the unit with the new style. We’re only listing the kit AP7216885 from what I can see.

Thanks for the thorough and quick reply! This makes sense because the freezer lights were the first to go out, then a day or two later the ones in the refrigerator started acting up. Will give that 12 pack a shot. APP’s video shows it should be a relatively easy fix.
