Maytag washing machine is getting louder

Main Symptom: washing machine is loud when it is spinning. No other problems with it, but it sounds similar to a jet airplane taking off. Would this mean that something is broken or is it just spinning really fast?

With the unit sounding light a jet taking off then it would be considered normal. A loud roar/grinding would be with the bearing that would need to be replaced. You would need to get the gearcase to replace the bearing.
