Our Maytag washer will intermittingly stop agitating mid cycle. The washer is 15 years old. When the timer is set on the 12 minute cycle, the agitation will stop at the 8 minute mark and not re-engage, the timer keeps going but no agitation. If I reset the washer again at the 12 minute mark it will usually run through the entire cycle without any further problems. Any ideas?
Sounds very much like a timer issue. These are great machines but after 15 years you may be ready for a new model.
