Maytag Washer starts and stops during spin cycle but completes cycle

My washing machine runs smoothly, no strange sounds, seems to complete the cycle. But it stops for several minutes then restarts several times during each spin cycle. Clothes are wrung out when complete, but are wetter than they should be, like it doesn’t build up enough speed during spinning. It isn’t out of balance, doesn’t thump or otherwise sound like it is out of balance. No squeaking or other unusual sounds. I haven’t tried running it with nothing in it yet.

I want to DIY as it is old enough that I would rather replace than spend a ton of money repairing.

Does the motor stop (silent)? If so, does the timer continue to advance or stop as well?

Eric

Yes the motor stops, it is silent. I don’t know if the timer continues, I’m assuming it does. It starts itself back up again (several times during each spin cycle) and completes the cycle without intervention from me.

Sounds like a faulty timer. Need washer serial number to advise part number for timer.

Thanks. Since this is an expensive part, what is your return policy if this doesn’t fix the problem?

You may return it for a full refund.

Thank you!
