What happens & when:

Replace the inlet pump. Go to start washer and pump won’t start however other cycles do like rinse , spin, etc

If there is no water filling the washer then test to make sure that there is 120 vac getting to the water valve. If there is but no water running in then the water valve would be the most likely issue.
