Maytag Wall Oven

Hello,

Would like to know if anybody has had this problem? I turn on the oven and the igniter comes on to an orange tint but the gas burners do not kick on. I have used a match to try and light the oven on by the igniter and still the burner does not kick on. I have a gas stove next to it and works fine and they run off of the same gas line. Could this be a regulator problem or something else completely? Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Hi.

The ignitor in order to open the gas has to “pull” 3.25Amp. If it’s any less then that it wont work.

Thank you. Post the results.

Simon,

Thank you for the reply. I thought it might be the igniter but was not sure that there as an actual sensor / thermal couple (I assume) that was also attached to it to allow the gas to flow in. I will replace the igniter this weekend and will let you know the results. I’m hoping that is all it is as I would like to avoid purchasing a new over or hefty repair bill.

Thanks again !!!

Hi.

There is no any sensors attached to the ignitor.
The safety gas valve has a coil inside, rated to open the gas at 3.25amp.
