Maytag stackable lid switch

Hi,

Pretty certain I need a new lid switch (fuse blows when washing machine lid is opened), but not sure if I want to attempt if the entire stackable unit needs to be pulled out for rear access ( too heavy). Can the lid switch be replaced from the front? It doesn’t appear that it can, but not sure. Unit is 10 years old; should I just buy a new one?

Removing the angled panel between the dryer and washer should give you access to the lid switch.

Thanks. Switch is under washer top cover. Do I have to remove dryer unit to remove washer cover panel?

With transition panel removed, check for a couple screws to remove to allow you to pull washer top panel forward for removal. Not too sure on this model. No service manual available.
