Brand: Maytag
Model Number: MGS5770ADB
Main Symptom: top burners won’t light
What happens & when: Turn any burner knob, no clicking sound; but have gas & able to light with Bic long nozzle lighter. Unable to remove top to check electrical connections with multimeter. Thinking spark module. No error codes.
I’d say you’re on the right path. The only things that would cause all of the cooktop burners not to spark are the switch harness AP4098345 and the spark module AP4108240. It looks like the switch harness has been discontinued and is no longer available, but the spark module is still in production.

Hi Rory:
I need to get under top to isolate trouble with voltmeter. Already removed grates, drip pan, screws under burner caps. It’s a slide-in range no side panels: Did I get all the screws? Are there clips in front, back; does top lift in front or from back. Do you have a step by step for top removal?
Actually, I do, here’s the part of the service manual going over top removal on the gas model.
I’d send the whole service manual, but it is too big to upload here.

Hi Rory:
Thank you for information for top removal. Is this process the same for free standing and slide-in range? Mine is the slide-in range type.
Don’t see spark module. Could you tell me where the spark module is located?
Need a little more help. ![]()
