I have a Maytag electric range, model # PER4310BAW, that recently started cooking unevenly. It burns the outside of food while leaving the inside underdone. I’ve heard this may a thermostat problem. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

I would check that both elements work.
Especially if it is also taking longer to pre-heat.
Sounds like uneven heating in the unit.
Both elements heat up (at least they glow; lower when oven is on bake and upper on broil); can they start going bad before they burn out? The preheat time has not increased.
Thanks for your reponse.
