Maytag Oven / Range

Maytag Range, this stove works fine other than one problem: When food is in the oven being cooked, the unit will shut off mid-way thru the cooking and it leaves the food raw. There is no error message nor dim lights on the circuit / display pane. This is a Gas Stove.
There is no smell of gas neither.

Any Suggestions ?

Please Respond.

Thanks.

Can someone please provide input on the attached question that I am having with my Maytag Range.

Thanks.

Hi, Butch.

Let’s try to solve this problem. Did you actually see the gas ignites and temperature rising to whatever setting you turn it to? Can you possibly measure the max temperature and post the result. Have you tried to turn the thermostat to a higher setting when the oven stops working?
Please provide me all this information.

Thank you.

I do see the ignitor and the flame when I click it on and it will only work / burn for a while then shuts itself off. I am not sure up to what range of heat / temperature it gets to but I do not smell any gas. Just uncooked food and the mrs. is nagging about this range / oven not functioning properly.

I did not know that the thermostat had an adjustment on it. How does one turn up the heat / adjust it.

THanks.

Hi, Butch.
What I meant by asking you to set the temperature to a higher setting was to turn the thermostat knob 50 degrees up.
See if it will come on.
Would you also provide the first two digits of the serial #.
I need that to get you correct part.

Please reply.

it takes a while for it to come on. I can see the ignitor lit but no flame until a good 5minutes or so then the heat comes on and will only stay on for a short time while the food is cooking.

Other than the above, A Nice Stove / Range. . .

Thanks.

Possibly I will need two plastic Knobs as well. Can you quote me a part number as well as the part number for the problem in question?

Hi.

In you case (based on information you provided) the problem

could be bad oven ignitor or oven thermostat.

You will need the clamp on amp meter to check the ignitor.

Get the access to the ignitor’s wires, clamp on the meter

over one wire and turn on the oven.

You should read 3.25 amp if less - replace the ignitor.
