I’m sure this topic has been addressed before although I have not seen a posting with exactly the same problems as I am experiencing.
I have a frontload Maytag Neptune washing machine, model # MAH6500AWW; serial #34305599EG.
My Maytag washing machine and dryer were used from 2004-2006; then unused from 2006-2008 in a room that may have seen close to freezing temps. After rehooking it up it would run normally up until the rinse and spin cyles, upon which it would agitate until the timer went to 0, upon which the NF code would show. The rinse and spin cycles were bypassed altogether, and if I tried to hit the button to go directly to rinse or spin it would not allow it. In addition the bleach tray would be full of water. I checked the screens on the cold/hot inlet valve, they were clean. I even removed the inlet valve and mixing valve and ran a charge across them, the solenoids seemed to actuate well.
After hooking everything back up again, I noticed a hum noise throughout the operation of the machine which was coming heavily from the inlet valve.
My thought is that maybe the inlet and mixing valves were exposed to freezing temps while being stored. Worse case scenario is the circuit board is shot?
What should I do? Am I missing something? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Best regards,
John
