Maytag Microwave Door Switch

Brand:Maytag
Model Number:Mmv5219ds-2
Main Symptom:door switch
What happens & when:

Door closes, yet control panel thinks door is open. Sometimes slightly lifting the door will properly engage the door switch. Should I replace both door switches and interlock supports. Which are the correct parts?

Error Code (if any):

It would be recommended to check the door switches. Most likely the switches are faulty and would be recommended to replace all of them. Here are links to the switches.

OK, are the interlock supports known to fail as well?

The interlock does not typically fail.

I replaced three switches, one at a time, matching numbers and location. After I plugged it in, light and fan came on. Door was then closed and I was able to set the time. Following that, the MV breaker tripped. It was reset and now there is no power to MV

Check the fuse to make sure that it has continuity. If not then replace the fuse.

does it need to be a thermal fuse

I have a similar problem with a Frigidaire FMV156DC. Microwave WILL work when door is pushed in and slightly up. I removed/disassembled door. Door latch is fine. If the unit works ok once door is pushed in could switches be faulty? Or is perhaps door misaligned (it has no handle so we open by pulling on bottom of door)? Thanks,

It’s not the fuse. No power at all. What are the next troubleshooting steps please

resending message from yesterday. Fuse was good and also replaced with new one . Still no power. What are the next troubleshooting steps ,please?
