Last week, my dryer stop drying clothes. Opened up the door and found that there was no heat.
I proceeded to look at the web for a quick answer and found a lot of information pointing to thermal fuses, thermal switches, broken heating element. I ordered a parts kit from amazon and started dismantling and cleaning the dryer from 4 years worth of lint and dust.
While I was at it, I checked the continuity on the heating element, the high temp switch, the thermostat (Thermal Cut-Off) and the thermal fuse. All checked out ok. The thermistor did test out a lower resistance than the suggested 10k ohms.
I replaced everything with new parts that came in the repair kit, except for the thermistor and the thermal cut off switch as they were either not included in the kit or the unit included in the kit was not the correct one.
I put everything back together, plugged the unit back in and NOTHING. Now not only do I not have heat, but now the motor isn’t coming on as well. No humming or weird noises, just a couple of clicks from behind the control panel.
The drum light bulb operates in a normal fashion so I suspect the door switch is ok.
I am at a loss. Could it possibly be a bad control board?
