Main Symptom: tripping breaker
What happens & when: Was loud (scraping noise). replaced parts below and still had scraping noise. Started to trip a circuit part way through drying load a few weeks ago. cleaned out vent and it started to work again. just yesterday it tripped and now will trip any time I close the dryer door.

It sounds like there may be a wire loose or misconnected. The breaker would only trip if there is a shorted circuit based on the wiring for this model. If the wires look good, the dryness display may need to be checked for any indication of damage.
