Maytag Gemini dual element not heating

The inner part of the front left dual ring of the cooktop is not heating. I assume that the whole element needs replacing (part No.74009898?) Should I check for anything else before ordering this part, like the switch which changes the function from inner element to both parts heating or the wiring?

How do I access the element and the inner parts of the cook top and control panel? Are there any instructions for this on service sheets - the user manual and installation manual do not mention anything remotely like gaining access to the innards of this thing!

It could be the burner or the switch the burners are infamous for going out on these things but watch these video’s to determine your problem the switches also can be the culprit as well.

Thanks for the prompt help. I’ll check out the switch as shown in the video and go from there.
