This is a coin op dryer and should run for 30 minutes. For some reason it started cutting out after about 10 minutes. I was told that it was the timer but the time is still running when it cuts out(stop). I have replaced the timmer as that is what an appliance repair man recommended. The dryer still cuts out after 10 minutes. I have checked the exhaust pipe and that is clear of lint. Any ideas? Thanks.
Lloyd,
Just an educated guess, but the next step would be to check the motor overload switch.
If the motor is overheating, due to internal wear, or is blocked and clogged with debris or lint, the switch opens and turns off the motor.
Based on your information, that would be the next place to investigate.
Where would I find the motor overload switch on the Maytag dryer
The motor overload switch is located inside the motor housing.
It appears as a little black box, with two wires attaching to the centifugal switch,on the motor.
It is not available as an individual part, you’ll need to replace the complete motor.
Good Luck,
