I have a front loading Maytag 2000 series washer that isn’t working, model # MWWE200XW00. My problem began when the washer locked up on me when it was in an unbalanced condition. It also tripped a circuit breaker at that time.
After using the interior release to open the door, when I try a new cycle, it locks the door but does not start. Further, the light indicating door locked is illuminated along with the light that states add clothes.
I got into the diagnostic mode and the error code was LF, which means no water detected entering washer or pressure switch trip not detected. I reset the code and have tried the automated test. During the automated test I hear and see water filling in the tub, then I hear the pump and see the water being removed from the tub. There is no tub spinning, however, and the pump continues to run until I unplug the washer. Through the front access panel I can see the belt is in place around the motor pulley and I don’t hear any noises indicating the motor/tub are attempting to turn. Manually, the tub will turn freely and is not bound up.
