Maytag FH,F2 and pump running on when empty

Having fun (~snicker~), It started with an FH code at the beginning of 1st rinse cycle. Have a slightly older(by 2 yrs) Kenmore I used for parts (same).
Began by replacing flow meter, then water valve, no good. Screens are clean, no kinks at inlet hoses, but again only happened at start of rinse cycle, not initial wash.

Then while draining it began to show F2 code, checked pump 'trap' (screen) hose from drum- all clear. When it finally did kick in to drain after numerous 'start/stop' attempts- now runs on even dry, must unplug. To top it off door is locked and can't remove cloths. Ready to heave this and go back to a (imo) more durable, less 'sensitive' , top loader- easier in my experience to repair, and less headaches. But, want to give this thing one last shot. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated(and make my wife happy....)

I am tempted to say that the one last shot you should give this machine is with a 12 guage. Diagnosing these models is an awful task.

Try replacing the pressure switch.

Hey,a reply! Thank you Sid. Yeah, tempting to blast it to kingdom come. You’re on the right track. After replacing the pump today to solve F2 code(removed from old machine), and pressure switch with no positive result for FH, decided to remove sender for switch (airtrap). Sure enough was clogged with mineral deposits(have hard water). Cleaned it, blew it out with air hose, replaced. Machine cycled normally, wife smiling now…
Thanks again for the response, I hope this post can help another poor soul with these beasts;)

Ok great, glad you found that and got it going. I had just assumed you had checked the tube when you were fooling around in there, but glad you did.

Thanks for the update, it will be helpful to others, and a lot of others read this Forum. Good luck going forward. When these models work they do a good job and when they don’t, well, you have just experienced that.
