Maytag Dryer will not start

My dryer will not start. THe light comes on but nothing happens when you push the button to start. I have checked the breaker. All is good there. What else could be the problem?

The first thing I would do is check the thermal fuse (#6 on the diagram) for continuity.

If this fuse is open then you have to replace the high limit thermostat as well.
